Will Homeschooling Change the Face and Also the Hair of our Workforce???
Our oldest daughter is now in high school. And when I say “highschool” I don’t mean that sprawling building on the edge of town where all those young, drugged out, sex addicts spend their weekdays getting high and knocked up while having their brains impregnated with satanic information like the age of the earth being more than 6000 years old and dinosaur fossils not being fake bones that were planted by Lucifer to trick scientists into becoming atheists. What I mean when I say “high school” is our cozy home where Emilie spends her days lolling on the sofa reading teenage sci-fi novels, practicing her sign language and shaving half of her head, and dying the other half green.
So adorable!
See!
This is the kind of thing that happens to girls when they aren’t subject to all that horrible peer pressure that goes on in the public schools! I bet you wish that your daughter was as free in her spirit as mine is!
Dontcha wish your daughter was hot like mine!
Doncha wish your daughter was a freak like mine?!?
Dontcha!!!!
Dontcha!!!
She’s so creative!
And so NOT cut out for college! She wouldn’t last a day in an environment where she was being forced to learn things she didn’t want to learn! What if some mutant college professor made her learn the periodic table and she wasn’t feeling it! Good grief! How is that going to help her make the world safer for Jesus to come back to?
What I am saying is that we are not pushing our kids to go to college. Mostly because they are too smart, too creative and just too close to the Lord. And also because they have been homeschooled and everyone knows that homeschooled kids are just better than other kids. It’s so obvious! Just look at my daughter! Doesn’t she look like she is better than other people? Who wouldn’t want to hire her to be an entrepreneur straight out of highschool? She is such an independent thinker! She doesn’t need an expensive college degree to prove herself to people! It’s written all over her purple face!
Besides! Look at her dad! He’s a prison psychologist and guess what! Most of the prisoners he works with also did not go to college! Why? Because they are independent thinkers and entrepreneurs who don’t need other people telling them what the rules are! They make their own rules! Which is just exactly what this world needs! More people who make up their own rules and think independently and then go to jail!
It’s true! I read it on a website that caters to homeschoolers just like me! It said that homeschooled kids are just plum better than other kids. They have better brains and they work harder and they are also a little chubby and kind of goofy looking, but that is only because they have been protected from the evil influences of their public school peers. Children are supposed to be a little plump. It will keep them going during the End Times!
So I will not be encouraging my children to go to college. All that college does is teach your kids to be doctors, lawyers, teachers, architects, scientists, nurses, surgeons, musicians, artists, business people, accountants, designers and technicians and that is sooooo not my kids. How do I know this? Because I homeschool and that means I actually know who my kids are and exactly what they will be and guess what! They are all going to be independent thinkers and also entrepreneurs which none of those poor kids who go to schools are going to be able to do!
So what do you think?
Are you encouraging your kids to conform and go to college? Or will you be allowing them to be entrepreneurs and independent thinkers like mine?
(Only agreeable comments will be allowed to post. I am talking to you Bev Widener!)

Weeeee I got here first! I don’t care though. Where the heck is my PieNear and her crazy eyes? And where can I read the original of this horror show?
Oh My GODS that woman is a self important bitch. How do you read that without wanting to just smash the computer? And the commenters too, saying how their children are getting a superior education and spelling everything incorrectly. The majority of homeschoolers do not seem qualified to teach toilet training.
And this dreck: “Still, if the result of on-the-job learning is a smarter workforce, with less debt, less stress, more job satisfaction and an increased tendency toward entrepreneurship, it sounds more revolutionary than risky”
All of the above quoted words are a load of self-deluded crap. I have seen the future and it is flighty, unstructured, ill-read, self-absorbed, bed-head, badly-dressed idiots.
Agreed. And with the job market the way it is, it’s hard to even get an interview for a tech job without the benefit of an advanced degree.
Amen, Kait! Here’s my thought: that’s just fine, Heather. I’m happy for my kids to make 85% more over the course of their careers than your non-bachelor-degreed kids. Works for me!
And more crap: “According to Trunk, ‘The homechooling movement will prepare Generation Y to skip college, and Gen X is out-of-the-box enough in their parenting to support that.’” REALLY? To skip college? Do they just get on their magical unicorns and fly to a great-paying job? UGH! This GenX mom does not agree. Guess I’m just a public-school-schilling evolutionist!
Rechelle, you need to put a “liquids” warning on your posts. I had just poured a glass of wine and taken a sip when I saw this post. I’m still cleaning off the computer screen. You should send a pair of those safety pin earrings to OMSH.
PieNear, you are Genius. I too spit wine while reading this one. Pure. Genius.
The perfect, perfect homeschoolers. They’re so self-directed you see. And independent.
Except for the part about not being able to think for themselves when it comes to religion. And science. And history.
But they can sure do Math Facts! And Spell!
Also, I thought of you all and OMSH (who I think lives in Texas, yes?) when I saw this story. Clearly a ‘home’ education in the Lone Star State is worth… well, about $300 and the paper the diploma was printed on.
Doggie Diplomas!
She lives in Huntsville, Texas where the largest employer is the Texas Department of Corrections.
Where is the link for the earings, & hair dye?
Hum, must I go over to PW and see if this was based on an actual post? I’m almost kind of afraid to go check, but I will…
Yes, read it. Then read the comments, because that’s where the real hilarity begins.
I’m so glad you’re taking OMSH to task on her pro-homeschooling dribble. All I hear is a mother who claws at every possible handhold to justify not letting her children have lives of their own, and of creating another generation of uneducated, close-minded home “schoolers.”
Not all homeschooling is ineffective, but I have yet to read something useful or intelligent from that woman.
Brilliant, as always.
Those righteous, independent thinkers are also called sociopaths in many circles.
Oh, my God! That was awesome!
I had to go and read the original post and I did want to reach through the computer and slap someone. Then I read the first comment, where the person said “College graduates in this country are now the majority.” The fact is that fewer than 40% of Americans have an undergraduate degree, so this is just either a sign of this person’s ignorance, or possibly her lack of understanding of the difference between a majority and a minority. Good luck to her (homeschooled) kids!
Home school girls don’t need to go to college because they get married at 18 and have babies right away. College might corrupt them anyway. They might get an idea to be single for awhile or even be a career woman and send their children to DAY CARE!! Since day care is filled with HIV infected needles, rats, pedophiles, and they are never fed, dressed, played with or taken care of. Day Care workers abuse the children by making them watch horror movies and locking them in cages all day. I can’t stand those career women!!
I’m still waiting for the pioneer woman movie to come out. Anyone know?
Oooooo!!!! We don’t need no education, y’aaaaallllll WE ALL WANT TO BE STINKY BALLERINAS, JUST LIKE OUR HERO!!!!! OOOHHHHHH, YESSSSS!!!!!!! OMSH, I would sacrifice my legs to have your daughter’s homeschooled superiority and her wanna-be over achieverness. ADOPT ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
…pleeeease realize like every other sector of society- PW does NOT speak for all homeschoolers- mine are semi-normal
and will go to college (actually, we start one class per semester at community college in the eighth grade)
Welcome back, Rechelle! Keep it coming! You were missed…………

OMG!! The safety pin earring is priceless!
